Don't get me started on the horrible out-of-context quoting of the Bible I've heard in the last few days.

I always enjoy being lectured by Godless socialists, that have told me to keep my religion to myself for decades, that I need to support illegal immigration because the Bible says so.

Are we part of the UN? I don't know. But, if we are then this may apply. Again I don't know. Also, there may be a "They read the Quran so F'em" clause that I am not finding.
A refugee has the right to safe asylum. However, international protection comprises more than physical safety. Refugees should receive at least the same rights and basic help as any other foreigner who is a legal resident, including freedom of thought, of movement, and freedom from torture and degrading treatment.

The UN does not rule the U.S. nor dictate U.S. policy...I was going to say "yet", but we have a new President.

Honestly, it seems the implementation of the order was ham-handed, but that does not make it illegal.

...and if this is a Muslm ban, then I guess the 40 predominantly Muslim countries this does not apply to just aren't Muslim enough....or were not identified by the Obama administration as sources of possible terror.

Standing up for non-Americans is kinda something we do as Americans. Been happening for a long time now. Zero, 0, none, nada, zilch, Cero, Not-a-one, terrorist attack has happened in America by someone who was here on refugee status. Though I do remember some sort of attack that happened were most of the attackers were Saudi...though they aren't on the travel ban. And the AG is most definitely allowed to give their opinion and advice on laws passed.

While technically correct it isn't for a lack of desire: https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...tic-terrorism-charges/?utm_term=.4819619c131f

Not a fan of the Donald but I DID vote against Hillary. I believe we have swung WAT too far to one side with being all PC about everything, trying to keep everyone happy, worrying that others may think we're big meany poopy heads and all that but I do believe we as a country need to refocus and be more concerned about our problems here at home. If a 3 month moratorium is what it takes to confirm the current system of vetting refugees works then GREAT. Then we can move onto other border control issues, rampant poverty, inner city education and birth rates, fatherless children and other problems that are having real impacts on our nation right now!

Butting back out. (promised myself I'd stay out of these discussions until I was ready to "suicide by mod")

So presidential authority over the executive branch has not held up to scrutiny?
When the Ex. Order is a closed door deal that was not passed out for review by any effected agency or anyone that has a an idea of what this would mean in purely logistical terms, yes.

The U.N. is powerless. That document you quoted has as much weight as a post on INGO. The U.S. Is a sovereign nation.

So, if your Brigade commander had given an order without consulting his BN or CO commanders, that order would have been illegitimate?

I'm hearing this from Christians who apparently place their opinions about the Word above what it actually says.

Is your problem the way it was rolled out (in which I agree there are legitimate gripes) or is that it is the fullfillment of a campaign promise: to attempt to stop the blindly admittance of radical, Islamists into our country?

Kut, are you really calling this a Muslim ban? I had more respect for you than that.

Hold up. Who is getting the extreme vetting? I don't think the favored Christians are getting it. :)

The policy doesn't say "Muslim." But, if that's what the effect of enforcement is, then that's what it is.

Well, there are reasons why christian populations have declined to almost invisible numbers in those areas...

If it were a Muslim ban there would be at least 40 other countries affected by this policy. It is people who fit a threat profile: Muslims from specific countries. Two totally different things.
