I know its just a WASR and pales in comparison to most on here, but its my first to the AK series. I refinished the ugly wood (tore it apart the day I got it, Romanian 2x4s for the suck):

Looks nice !!! I like the reddish tones in the wood on AKs..... brings out the black badness.

I ordered a Lancaster Rough Rider 74 originally. I was screwed around for about 4 months when ordering from Lancaster originally. After threatening a lawsuit, I was upgraded to a milled reciever and given a $700 version.

well that sucks, but at the same time thats awesome of them to make it right! So was this with the recent batch of rough riders from 3 or so months back?

That is not one of the rough riders, its one of their nice 74's on a milled reciever. It is nice, but I think 4 months of screwing me around was ridiculous. The order is still not right, I'm owed 3 magazines that were supposed to be here at the end of this week. Lancaster makes good rifles, but their customer service is a total joke. I don't know how they stay in business.

    new TGI 74

I thought I’d share the quick little +1.

I originally purchased the first TGI AK74 about 1 month ago. I could not get it to function to save my life. I called TGI; and, Steve @ TGI told me he had encountered 1 or 2 rifles that simply had the ejectors angled too far upon installation of the rail on the stamped receiver.
He said it was rare and offered to fix it, or told me what I could do to fix it.

After a couple of range trips and attempts to manipulate the ejector sufficiently to realize proper function, I called Steve and he said ‘no problem’.

About a week later Steve contacted me once the rifle was in the shop and said that over the next three weeks he would not be able to give my rifle the attention; so, he was sending me a brand new one!

I have yet to hit the range with it. Steve said he did and assured me its functionality. I’m excited. Cheap to shoot, very light---it’s a keeper!

+1 for Bradis too though. Bradis Guns offered to have their gunsmith fix the rifle for me for free. But, I saved gas and time and just sent it back to its source. I’m glad I did!

    Varathane Cabernet (oil based)
Formby's Tung Oil finish (6-7 coats)

Sanded it down lightly, tack clothed it, stained it, let it sit for an hour or so before wiping stain off, did a second coat, after 24 hours I started rubbing on the Formby's, used 0000 steel wool in between coats of Formby's, let it dry 12 hours or more between coats. :yesway:

After even just staining it, it looked 1000x better.

Before and after comparison (original condition picture not mine, but mine looked the same):

Draco, Ultimak, and Primary Arms Micro Gen 1

Here's where Draco stands; the Primary Arms Micro dot came today, haven't zeroed it yet.

The Ultimak is the M1-B, I knew it was going to be too long but it seemed that the one made for the Krinkov would have a gap and I didn't want that. I had to cut it down and bevel the interior to make it fit.

I'm very happy with the result; 250 rounds yesterday without any issues (it didn't have any before...)

Here is the Draco I got yesterday. I like the laminated handguards and red grip better than what Ive seen in most of the pictures. More authentic AK style.

I picked up a Vector AK a couple years ago, Its got a really nice finish on the stock and no scratches on the receiver or barrel, I kinda like the fact that it was made in america even if it is a replica. i need to take a picture of it.
