Yes. Several years ago I had an interesting conversation with their second in command over this issue. It was a pleasant conversation, he understood my issue and appreciated the fact that I did not set out an individual with the intent of addressing the issue and not vengefulness regarding individual given that it took in three incidents spread over a year.

I'm not "sensitive" and I'm not liberal. I'm also not Muslim, but some of our members here are, and well-respected ones at that.

YOU may not recognize Islam as a religion, but it definitely is one. Having a mind closed to any belief other than your own is your prerogative. One of our committees is considering changing it to just 'run' or 'run and keep on running'. That way there would be more hiding spots for airport patrons."

I have not read the Koran (Quran, whatever spelling) I don't believe in treating anyone like cattle, nor murdering anyone, for any reason. I was raised Jewish, and so yes, the Nazis and their wannabes here in our country hold a special spot for me, but I also recall the so-called "American Nazis" marching in Skokie, IL when I was a child, and YES, I do believe they are deserving of protection of their freedom of speech under our First Amendment (which is also where the Establishment Clause protects freedom of religion.) Again, I do not believe in protection of murder, as you described it. What I do believe in is that people can believe whatever they want. How they believe or think is between them and God. How they act is something we can address. I'm not willing to treat EVERYONE who considers himself Muslim (or any other religion) as someone deserving of death. That's been done before, many times. It's called prejudice, the act of pre-judging someone because they're a member of some group. I don't agree with what you tell me their religion teaches, but then, I don't agree with some of what Christianity teaches, either.
The bottom line is that if we want to look around, we can find rectal orifices in ALL religions. Should I fault all Christians for the behavior of the idiots of Westboro? I've told the story that, years ago, on a board called packing.org, I got called a "left liberal democrat socialist fascist" because, presented with a hypothetical of a man of Middle Eastern descent down the road a little from me, I did not immediately draw and kill him. The scenario then unfolded that he stepped from the doorway in which he was standing and started firing the previously-hidden AK he was holding, in my direction. I'm not going to draw on someone just because of where he was born, what name he calls God, or what his beliefs are. When his beliefs cross the line and start causing actual harm, I'll put whatever rounds into him I have available, if needed to stop the threat.

No, I am not the reason for the insanity in Europe, nor the mass shootings here. That is the fault of the people doing the killing. We might go so far as to blame those who had a hand in creating the atmosphere for those groups to grow, but ultimately, the blame falls on the people squeezing the triggers or detonating the bombs.

Finally, I did not threaten you. I put up an in-thread warning, telling the members who care that the mod staff is watching a thread and that further violations of our site's rules will be met with an infraction, a vacation such as you got, or a permanent ban. Who do I think I am? I'm a mod on this site, charged with making sure those rules that Fenway wants in place are followed, that's who I am. It gives me no power outside of here, no swelled head, no self-importance. It only means that I am one of a group who took the responsibility to keep this site welcoming to all. You agreed to those rules, and then defecated on them. One of the other mods gave you a temp-ban because of it.
I truly hope that time away from here gives you time to think about your actions. I hope that you reconsider them and that when you return, you see why things happened as they did. If at that time you don't want to come back, don't. If you do, then come back with the understanding that those rules apply to all members, not only the rules you like, and not different for anyone.

I can't change what you think or feel. I wouldn't try to. I've just been the one to tell you where the line you crossed was. Someone else saw that you'd doubled down and not only not rethought your position, but began insulting other members- in this case, me.
