    spot on!

wish i could give you rep but it says i have spread my glory to others.....

as a white male, you cant even begin to hold a conversation on race unless you are kow-towing and saying how evil whites are/have been. same thing for hetero. it doesnt matter that my mom is from Mexico and CAME HERE LEGALLY or that my wife is from S. Korea and CAME HERE LEGALLY, if i say anything towards any other race, i am a bigot, racist and white power, red neck (proud to be a red neck btw) hick with a gap tooth drool laden grin....

    I got him for ya;)

I'm proud to be white, and love to point out the racism of others I work with. You should see the look of shock on someone's face when you ask them "It's because I'm white, isn't it?" It cracks me up.

They don't have to learn it, just pass the test. If they don't practice it will be lost to them soon. How many remember anything useful from high school Spanish after a few years?

i did this to a cop in hawaii. he stopped me for 5 over because of my license plates while hawaii tagged cars were flying past me.

his face was priceless. it went from all arrogance to stone. i usually will give cops the benfit of the doubt, but this guy was douche-tastic!

Um...what does being white have to do with being American? They are not synonymous...not by a long shot.

Whoever said above that American culture IS multi-culture... :+1: You're getting repped. Exactly right. Who cares about being white when you're an American?!?! :dunno: :patriot:

go back and try some reading comprehension......

i did NOT equate being American with being WHITE. my MOTHER is HISPANIC (not white unless you shot Crayon Martin) and my WIFE is ASIAN, also NOT WHITE (i am seriously trying to help you understand here...)

guess what? they are BOTH AMERICANS.......shocking right? my FIL came to the US barely speaking English with only $500 in his pocket. he worked until he had enough money to bring my MIL and their 3 kids over, it took 2 years i think.

they ASSIMILATED to American culture by learning the language and adopting American names. i use my wife's given name while her friends use her adopted name. i enjoy celebrating her Asian heritage because it is unique to me. the food is incredible and i have found Asian families truly take care of each other, work hard and EARN what they have.

what i was referring to about "white" is that we, as whites are not allowed to criticize any other race and have to use the oh-so-special names for each one or we get castigated, labled and cast-out. on top of that, you get the white apologists (of which there are plenty here) who jump on the band wagon and scream bloody murder about someone who has criticized a "minority" just so they can then feel better about themselves. you the type, the ones who think it is so important to list how many friends of each race they have at parties.....

also, American culture is multi-cultural to an extent, but, like cake batter, if you dilute it too much, it eventually turns to waste. that is what is happening in the USA today. this is what the Socialists and Communists have wanted since the 50's, to have us destroy ourselves from within.

    it is working.

Why are we forcing anybody to do anything?

You know, you're right. It is so unlike any unit of government to force anyone to do anything

As another post pointed out, no one is forcing these recruits to learn Spanish, or do anything else, for that matter. It is a term of employment...much like being able to properly handle a hose or not carrying a gun on the premises for other employers.

I stopped reading when I saw your condescension.

that's fine. i should allow and accept your misrepresentation of my posts yet, when you get called out, you ignore it.

that solves problems or sure. not trying to start a pissing match, just stating fact.

Misrepresenting your posts? If I wanted to do that, or if I was even referencing your post, I would have quoted your post(s). Guilty conscience? :dunno:

Oh believe me...I know. I feel the oppression every day.

this i can agree with. especially when i pass the same guys drinking their 40's every morning on my way to work.

i feel great knowing i am going to work so they may continue to get their EBT, Bobophone, welfare, subsidised housing etc.....

I work in a public safety profession. They drug test for nicotine and limit my speech on my private blog and Facebook page. In some jobs I'm under constant video surveillance when working. Asking me to learn Spanish would be the least intrusive condition of employment. Of course, I'd be in trouble since I have a very hard time learning languages. Occasionally I get a patient who doesn't speak English. I adapt. It's not an issue.

we have stopped demanding that immigrants adhere or adopt the mainstream American culture of hot dogs, hamburgers and apple pie.

You forgot pizza! And celebrating St. Patrick's day! And "french" (Belgian) fries!

    Oh...wait.

Seriously...when did "we" ever demand assimilation? It was encouraged more in the past, but demanded?

Whether Italian, Irish, Polish, Russian, Jamaican, Cuban, Chinese, Korean or otherwise, there have been areas of various cities around the country where the folks living within are predominately of one ethnic background and who cling tightly to their cultures and customs. In many of these areas, you will see bilingual signs, or even signs with only the "foreign" language printed. This has been true for well over a century and, I hope, will continue to be so.

While the idea of assimilation into "American culture" sounds nice, if you take a look at recent "American culture", there's not much to assimilate into.

Immigrants are not going to be the downfall of this country, it is the socialistic/mercantilistic/kleptocratic direction in which the government has pushed our culture with welfare that is killing us. Let a man have hunger and he has the incentive to work...train him to accept handouts and you train a lazy sack of :poop:, no matter what his ethnic background...and yes, you will attract the already lazy from other countries.

Immigration, in and of itself, has never been the root of the problem...it is a symptom. The issues are, at their core political and economic. Until those are addressed, do not expect change.

Your concerns and efforts would be better focused elsewhere in order to achieve the outcome you seem to desire.
