    Once again...."negligent" and "accidental" are not mutually exclusive. It is theoretically possible to have an accidental discharge that is not negligent (mechanical failure, for instance), but pretty much all negligent discharges are accidental.

    Accident: "An unfortunate incident that happens unexpectedly and unintentionally."

    I stopped in there today, they said a customer was unloading his gun before he came into the shop. Thought it was unloaded now pulled the trigger and took a round to the leg with no exit.

    ...so when one thinks it’s unloaded it’s OK to point it at your leg and pull the trigger? A better idea might be to keep it pointed in a safe direction all the time, just in case, you know.
