I have, at times, had packages held at the local Fed-Ex or UPS office. I can pick them up on my day off, but know they are safe until then.

That's a good point, i've done the same. Only bummer is, I have to drive quite a ways to get to the terminal (Kokomo), so i try to time it so that i have other things to do in that area.

I, for one, would dearly LOVE to have shipments shipped to me here at work. But my employer would frown upon it. Frown upon it a great deal - since ALL mail is opened and inspected before being distributed to the recipient.

I may give serious thought to having stuff shipped to a retired neighbor or two - after consultation.

My aunt had a Christmas tree sit on her porch for damn near a full week (in a box), in Vestavia Hills, while she was with the rest of the family in Enterprise. It was there when she got back.

This thread reminds me I need to add something to my legistlative session wish list. I wish we could legally shoot thieves in the act in Indiana! Let's make it happen.

No. Stealing isn't a capital crime. You don't get to make up excuses to shoot people for just any old thing they do. If they present a real threat to your life, well, that's different.

I get both views, and understand each.

    So what about a compromise?

What if we can legally shoot them with a double dose of rock salt?

Would that satisfy both parties? Just tryin' to be helpful here.

    Regards,

    Doug

    Quite. Indeed.

Why people don't just have their valet wait for the delivery on the patio and bring it to them at the spa is beyond me.

That's what the valet is for...

What's worked for me is living on a private road, not visible from the public road plus having the house 100 yards back off of the private road.

...having a few stay-at-home-moms living in our little enclave doesn't hurt.

    Everyone should do this.

    Okay. I'm cool with that.
