I don't think it's a smear. He didn't deny it. Accuse me of crap I'm not guilty of I wouldn't dance around it. I don't feel it's about race. Obama got to be
President. My question is if he's suspect of being a sexual predator will people still vote for him?Firehawk I have question does Cain appeal to you becauses he's black? I'm asking because you made a point of making that a focus point of a black American instead of simply anerican. Btw didn't he just flip flop on appointing Muslims to his office? I don't see a problem but it is saying something you constantly flip flop during campeign season.

He has flip flopped on several things and doesn't know what pro life and pro choice mean. The guy isn't all that bright. I see a great political career in his future. If you flip flop enough and get the timing down, you can gain attention from the masses that don't look into anything before they vote.

First of all, you cannot win against an unfounded smear. No matter how one responds it is losing proposition. If Cain had answered no, that is NOT what the media wanted to hear so it would go on and on and on. So IMO it's smart simply not to engage in the conversation. Don't play their game.

No, Cain does not appeal to be because he's black. He appeals to me because of his IDEAS. I don't agree with everything about him, but he deserves to be heard, and let the voters decide on the merit of his proposals. It is obvious he is being smeared because of his sudden rise in the polls.

For the record, I am a white American. My reference to Cain being a black American is simply because of the left's repeated attempts to destroy conservative black American's with the smear of sexual harassment.

it had become obvious that the MSM had marked him for destruction. They can not allow a strong black man to do well that isn't on the liberal plantation. Just last week MSNBC was spinning that Cain was doing well in the GOP because he knew his place.

THIS, there is a vested in interest for the Left to demonized any black figure that doesn't toe the socialist/progressive party line.

Not a surprise that the left would pull this early on to derail him. Year ago I was falsly charged with this by a woman I was trying to fire for incompetency. My employer required a long drawn out procedure of documentation prior to terminating someone. Near the end of the process she notified the higher ups that I had harrassed her. Let me tell you, I was guilty until proven innocent. What saved me is 22 other women under my supervision told HR the claim was a bunch of crap. I was so disgusted by the whole deal that I retired a few months later. This of course brings up the Clarence Thomas issue. I always personally thought Anita Hill went after him, with liberal encouragement, because she secretly had the hots for him and he ended up married to a white woman. Plus she is a consummate liberal. Go Herman!!!

Charges like this also show how desperate someones opponents are to keep him/her from getting the nomination.

The allegations were claimed to have happened well before he was in the public spotlight. So we can't say that the allegations had anything to do with a political agenda.

According to the unknown sources, the women received settlements, which tells me they may have had more substantial evidence than just claims.

So the real question is whether this actually happened or not. If it didn't, a simple "No, this story is completely fabricated" should have been an easy answer for Cain. Instead, he is dancing around it and refusing to answer. Why would he do that if this is all made up?

This is why these things are always a lose/lose for the person on the receiving end.

    1) You can't prove that you didn't do it.

    2) So, you pay them money to go away whether you did it or not.

    3) Settlement suddenly becomes an admission of guilt.

Now you're completely hemmed in because of a couple of gold diggers wanted to get their share of the unfair pie.

I don't really give a **** either way. Is he going to pass a law making it ok to grabass anyone you want? No. Is it going to change his economic position? No.

    It's a distraction at best.

Prove to me that man will act in an opposite manner of his current platform, which is the 9-9-9 tax reform, and I'll listen.

Can someone produce proof that the allegation derived form the left? I'm not sure where it came from, but I would be interested to know. Could it have been leaked from someone on the right? Sure, but that doesn't seem to be something that is being considered.

Why would he bother to disavow or admit if there is no harm to his campaign? He doesn't even know if this could benefit him at this point. It's best to be quiet and see which way the tide of public opinion will sway.

This is how I believe this will play out if he denies the accusation. The women will be ran through the grinder and Cain will be compared to Clarence Thomas as he's given a pass by those who support him.

The Politico is a left wing news outlet. They are the original media source.

It could very well be a load of B.S. Something about it just rubs me the wrong way though.

A simple "I have never sexually harrassed anyone" statement and I probably wouldn't have given this a second thought. Instead, he responds with:

Cain himself did not directly confront the allegations when confronted Sunday by Politico reporter Jonathan Martin outside the CBS Washington bureau, where Cain had just appeared on Face the Nation.
"I'm not gonna comment about two people that you won't tell me who they are. That's like negotiating -- ," Cain said, abruptly stopping himself mid-sentence. "I am not gonna comment on that, because you know, I think that that is one of those kinds of things that, until you look --," he said, again stopping himself mid-sentence. After being asked several times by Martin if he has ever been accused of sexual harassment Cain ended the exchange with a question of his own: "Have you ever been accused of sexual harassment?"

    Yup!!!
The Dems, the party of choice of the KKK, demands that Blacks toe the line and spout the party crap as put forth in their agenda.
Obama has done a fine job in that respect, and it would serve him, and the Libtards, right if a Conservative, self reliant, free thinking, Black Man whups his ass in the General Election. :)

After reading the story, which looks to be carefully researched and sourced by POLITICO, I'd have to say that I agree with Que. This could have easily originated from a party on the right. Wouldn't put it past Karl Rove to have leaked this to POLITICO, or someone in the Perry or Romney camps. And, on reading the story and hearing Cains responses, I would have to think there's some merit to it. He's doing a lot of dancing around and not enough denying. Looks like he's got something to hide to me. As for POLITICO being a leftwing news source, that's patently false. They're as close to the middle as you can get and even lean a bit right, usually. Some people watch too much Fox and have no idea of who's who and what's what beyond their own little worldview.

He obviously can't deny the allegations if there was settlement, or he'll be branded a liar.

He obviously can't confirm the allegations or he'll be branded a sex fiend.

He obviously can't confirm or deny the allegations as people will see that as a cover-up.

And since this has sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much to do with his ability to be chief executive, it needs the fullest of scrutiny.

Oh well. I didn't make the story up. You're going to be hearing about it all week on the news.

    That seems reasonable.:n00b:

It's not the story that did it, it's... I'll be honest, I'm having a hard time putting my thoughts into words. I guess the best way of saying it is that if you are such a hardcore Ron Pual fan, then obviously you and Ron think alike, which in turn that thought made me look deeper in to Ron Paul's stances... What I found sounds good initially, until you think about what would have happened if Ron Paul was president during WWII... I frankly think we would be speaking German... I don't believe we should be telling other countries what they can and can't do, but I do believe there are times you have to go out and kick some ass. Sadly, I don't believe Ron Pual feels the same way.

Another minor little thing that bothered me was how you bothered to make a comment about Rush Limbaugh saying Ron Paul should quit the race, yet didn't bother saying anything about how Rush said Ron Pual's ideas on the economy were right. You made a big complaint on how Rush is a fan of big government because he's not a Ron Paul fan, and frankly it just seemed rather ignorant of you. but that doesn't effect my veiw of Ron Paul, just of you.

Maybe my thought on Ron being President during WWII are ignorant, if so please show me why you think I'm wrong.

I think it's relevant. We don't want the president to have to spend his time defending himself from harassment allegations when he should be spending more time scrawling tax code on napkins.
