ive read its the same, they made the mag well bigger on the inside, if you have a 226 with the new grips, and the srt trigger, you souldnt notice any differance, the same holsters work for the 226 and the 227, and i think the 227 comes with the new grips and the srt installed from the factory

    Hmmm . . . 10+1 rounds of .45ACP vs. 18+1 rounds of 9mm. Hmmm . . .

I'd rather go back to the Beretta..

    Why?

I love my p226 - if I wanted another .45 I'd probably get a 227 but my XDm 45 and my 1911 45 are doing the job so far.

8+1+8 when I carry my 1911 or 15+1 with my 226. I actually carry 1 more round when I have the 1911 but would not have to do a magazine swap with the p226.

I would think I would be more likely to run empty with the 226 where as I would have to pause to swap mags on the 1911 after which I would be more likely to reassess the situation.

You can get really nice (as in functional) 18-round Mec-Gar mags for your P226 that are the same length as the standard factory mags. The 20s are more fun, though!
