You might wanna try reading the rules of the forum and the classifieds.

Link provided below to forum rules. Within that link is another for the classifieds. They will explain what's needed to access the classifieds and contact members

New to the page and trying to contact someone about buying some items he has listed but the page says I do not have access to do that. Any ideas? I have had my account for a few weeks now at least.
    Read the rules...

Ignore the peanut gallery. They are an odd* bunch.

You also need to read the rules of the classifieds. In case my signature doesnt show on your phone, the relevant links are here.

And please dont try to race to 50 by posting a bunch of one liners. Staff will police and delete them, causing wasted effort on your part.

    Dear mods,
We humbly request that you give threads of this nature an 8 hour grace period to allow the membership time to reply.
Many here have full time jobs or other obligations that wont allow them to reply in a timely manner before the potential for entertainment is interrupted by site management.
Some of the replies above are quite amusing, and given the opportunity, may offer a building block for others to cross a line or take a little too far just for a laugh, and who amongst us wouldn't enjoy that..............who I ask?
Just food for thought and your consideration before a "hard no" reply.

    Thank you for your time.

Why do people simply refuse to read the rules? I just do not get it. :horse:
If your question is rhetorical carry on, but if informational we saw recently screen grabs from scrapers that post the items listed on INGO on their sites for sale, the scraper site has a direct link to the item on INGO.

The person then is sitting on an INGO page with the shiny object right before their eyes, they try to figure out how to contact the seller, then they begrudgingly join to get contact access only to find out they still cannot contact the seller. Then it seems to break down into one of four responses, they become supporters or active members here, they just disappear, they get mad and rant at mods and members, or they become runners.

It is unfortunate that scrapers drop off folks where they cannot buy and bad on INGO for not making clear that even after they jump through the membership hoops they still may not be able to do what they thought was a simple deal. I believe that is why many get so pizzed.

    What is a scrapper?
    Scraper. As in "screen scraper".

Its a site that aggregates (scrapes) content from multiple sites into one and displays that external content in one place.
So I setup gunsforsale(dot)com. I build an API that crawls buds guns, ingo, armslist, etc and adds those listings to my website.
I do search engine optimization to drive my site to the top of the search results.

Ingoer Bubba posts his Glock 19 for sale here.
You search for "glock 19 for sale"
Google returns the link on my website.
You go to my website and part of my page includes ads surrounding Bubba's INGO listing. (thats where I make my money)
You see the glock for sale and click it, which brings you to Bubba's glock for sale here.

    Make sense?

You're supposed to check a box acknowledging that you've read the forum rules when you join, aren't you? If they're not, then that's really not on INGO. :dunno: I agree about the scrapers though.
