I had a text message conversation with a retired Stockton cop, and this happened right across from the police station lol. She told me the perp got more punishment there than the courts would ever have imposed.

She also told me they got a new DA there that is all about locking people up so hopefully things are turning around in Stockton. It is indeed a troubled city. She said she’s glad she’s retired now and that her husband now has a desk job at Stockton PD instead of being out on the streets.

Dude got himself culturally enriched by immigration

In India, whipping petty criminals with sticks is a way of life. If citizens aren't hitting you with sticks, the cops are. Just how things are done.

anyone else think the guy taking video was obnoxious and should have shut up? “Just let him do his thing nothing you can do” 5 seconds later “WHOOP HIM GET HIM” 5 seconds later “ok stop guys he’s had enough” then him going back there and getting the guy out? Nah let him wait for his ride.
Nothing to cheer about here. The perp will be back stealing in no time. This is just his cost of doing business.

The guy taking the video is the Problem With America. I kept hoping for the middle eastern guy to turn around and break his f*cking jaw with the stick. This is what the "Five Points Coalition" type of thinking gets you. He stands there for a couple minutes asking the (apparent) shop owner "Do You Have Insurance?" and doing _nothing_ of value to call the police or stop the attack or anything. "There's nothing you can do," he says, over and over. Then, when the beating begins, proving him wrong and showing there _is_ in fact something you can do, he preserves it for prosperity. It's nice that the peanut gallery seems to enjoy the video, but understand the real reason why Big Butt Guy is probably recording it in the first place. At one point, the perp reaches for and briefly reveals what appears to be a knife. If the middle eastern dudes would have capped him right then, he would have become the next George Floyd, and that phone video would have surely become the starting material for another "Cup Foods" race riot. Spectator Dude verbally alternates back and forth, changing sides in the tussle, before escorting THE PERPETRATOR safely outside to avoid his appointment with law enforcement. He actually tells the Criminal "I'm your brother" at one point during the incident! Clearly showing, he's not there to support the store owner. He's there to support the "brother." Probably the only thing stopping him from intervening on the beating is he was afraid of getting his own azz beat.

The store owners are probably thinking, "No thanks to you, you stupid a*shole!"

When the cops show up, this "pillar of the black community" will probably tell them "it was all taken care of," and give them no further info. He will probably cut a big figure down at the AME church, telling them how he saved a "brother's" life and turned him straight.

As I see it, he is the best argument for abortion I've ever seen. He is worthless AF.

This is the inevitable outcome of the legal system not doing its job. When people feel like they can’t rely on the courts to hold people accountable, they’ll take things into their own hands. The point of a legal system is to keep things like this from being necessary.
Exactly, this is why no one will give any information to the police about shootings in Indianapolis. They know Mears won't do anything about their friend/relative getting shot. The only justice they expect to see is the justice the streets provide.
