Ambien gets me. I take it because I have trouble sleeping. It makes me sleep walk and I also have a tendency to pee when I sleep walk. Well its not to embarrassing until you wake up, standing on your front porch, at 9 in the morning, peeing and your neighbor mowing his lawn watching you. It also makes me confused sometimes when I wake up and I dont know where I am. I may get up in the night and go fall back asleep on the kitchen floor or in the hallway.

When I first started taking it, I got up before I fell asleep to use the restroom. My wife described it as I fell asleep in the hallway while I was walking back to bed. She said she heard a big boom and came out to check on me. When she got out thier she found me in a ball on the hallway floor, still breathing but just asleep. She then threw a blanket on me and went to bed. The next morning I woke up really confused and asked her what happened and she told me.

I have a whole lot more of these stories to. So take this as a heads up if you ever have to take ambien. Take the meds and then go to bed and stay thier! Also hide your keys from yourself and make sure all doors are locked and the stairs are blocked off. Trust Me I Know!!

Ambien gets me too. I only took it a few times due to the side effects. I'd take it and go to bed then get up and go in the living room and stand there, weaving back and forth, sometimes multiple times a night. My wife said one time I did that she told me to go back to bed, I snapped to attention, saluted, did an about face and went back to bed.
I had shoulder surgery about 20 years ago. After the surgery I was in the recovery room and the Dr. was b.s.ing with the staff there, said that if a patient could recite the preamble to the Constitution they were ready to back upstairs. I sat straight up on the bed and recited the entire Constitution.

Nine years ago, I was going through the divorce from hell. My doctor put me on Paxil for depression and increased the dose a few times with no postive results. He sent me to a psychiatrist who put me on 75 mg. of Effexor and increased the dosage to 150 mg, which was a very strong dose for a 102 pound woman. I was no longer myself on this medication.

I was staying in Florida with my parents at the time. My mom noticed my change in personality and suggested that I don’t take “one of those pills” that day, so I didn’t. That night, I slept on the living room couch and stayed up all night watching spider webs growing over and over on the ceiling. At 4 a.m., I went into my parents room and told them about the fascinating experience I was having watching the spider webs grow on the ceiling...totally awestruck! My parents took one look at me and noticed something was pretty wrong, so they invited me into their bed to sleep, which I did. Mind you, I was 42 at the time! LOL!!

The next day, every time I drank water or ate food, it would totally KO me. I didn’t feel sick, I just couldn’t move. Later in the day, the light and movement sensitivity started, so we closed all the blinds in the house and I wore sunglasses, but every sound, movement and light caused extreme anxiety in me. Finally, my mom took me to the emergency room, in my sunglasses with my hands next to the lenses to block the light and movement...and there was a 4-5 hour wait to receive treatment. I told the nurse who was checking me in that I couldn’t “take it” in there for that long cause I would go insane. She started asking me questions and found the root cause of the problem…YOU NEVER STOP TAKING ANTIDEPRESSANTS COLD TURKEY! <Oops!> She suggested I leave the hospital, call my doctor and have him prescribe me smaller and smaller doses to wean me off the medication. I survived the ride home <whew> and followed her suggestion. That drug experience was worse than a bad trip. Never again!:eek:

Tell you what, I had some pretty over-the-top dreams last night after some punk little OTC sleeping pill. Just trying to forget those. My wife was on Ambien, and that knocked her out so much she wouldn't notice me, um... nevermind. Hey, if she'd been conscious more, you know...

I have sleep apnea and wear a mask that supplies positive are pressure through my nose when i sleep. The first night pressure was set to specs.supplied by the hospital.
I don't know how much air that thing pumped into my stomach that night, but when I got up the next morning I felt bloated from 1 end to the other.
The release of all that air was incredible,I was afraid my wife was going to crack a rib laughing so hard.
The next night we turned the pressure waaaayyyy down.
