Out of curiosity what did you pay for it? Just trying to get an idea if they are keeping up with inflation.

The m1a has been in service longer. Those are still in use today.

pretty sure my beretta is not plastic nor my shotguns...i dont mind polymer...would rather have a glock than a mosin..thats for sure

My first rifle was a Spanish Mauser. I never gave the recoil much thought. Of course, I was 20 years old then, too. I think I paid $20 for it.

Recoil from an 8mm? Put on your big boy pants. I let a first time shooter (he'd already shot a 12g, 20g, .223, and 7.62x51 that day) shoot my Mauser. He absolutely loved it. Now a .500 S&W handi-rifle has some recoil.

Thanks for the thread, I've been in the silent minority for a long time. I got a half mind to take it out of the safe, demilitarize (in case the kids get to it) and hang it on the wall for aesthetics.

Just couldn't bring myself to ruin a functioning firearm...

Just sell it and buy some ammo for one of your other guns.
