Walmart sells AR-15's

One of the clerks at my local Walmart told me that they got a new marketing director at Walmart HQ. Supposedly he's pro gun and a avid sportsman. That's why we're starting to see AR's and the like.

I checked in Lafayette, no AR's , really not mach at all. Will have to check the Monticello store, they have a better selection.

DPMS

Walmart in Greenfield sold THE one they received 15mins after putting it in the display case. Which was 23 mins before I got there to pick up some ammo and a magazine (for READING). Otherwise, might have left with me.

I'm in Blytheville AR. working.
The local Wal-mart has 2 different Sig AR's, 1 for $400, 1 for $900 and a S&W for $700.
I haven't asked to see them yet.
Here's my question though, they have a map of the U.S. on who they can sell longguns to. Seems they will sell to the whole U.S. except for about 5 states and IND is one of them.
Am I mistaken or didn't the rules about selling longguns to out of state people change a few months back?

I usually drive the extra 5 minutes to the Newburgh store. Their ammo selection is a lot better and they have a counter where you can order guns. No guns in stock, but I know you can order there. Good prices, too.

I would be happy if the Walmart by me sold ammo, let alone firearms. When they first opened they sold only shotgun shells, now they sell nothing. Apparently the inconvenience of having to drive to Don's or Meijer is just too much for a would be criminal...

On a side note, I was told the majority of Walmarts no longer sell firerams due to the employees' inability to fill out a 4473.

It would be kind of nice to find a Wal-Mart close to the north west side of Indy that actually has a good ammo selection, guns would be a bonus.

Well maybe they will start selling some bulk 5.56 ammo like I hear some of the other Walmarts are selling. I checked there this week and the Mgr. said he can't get anything.

I know what you mean, and posted a little before you did about it.

Closest option for NW would probably be 86th/Michigan, if you can ever get someone back there to unlock the cabinet.

I have to go to a different Walmart for ammo as the one closest to my house doesn't have the Federal 40SW value pack for $27, but the one on County Line and 65 has it and is on my way to Edinburgh when I go rifle shooting.

I did see a muzzle loader once, but that's it.

Shelbyville walmart has a DPMS sportacle and oracle. the sportacle was $587 and the oracle was more. I dont remember the price. They also have 3 Rossi circuit judges for some reason.

I was at the Shelbyville store this past Thursday and saw the new rotating cabinets getting some hardware.
The three Rossi's were in there along with a 10-22. No ARs at that time.
Guess I'll have to go in more regularly and see what they're stocking.
Could make for some expensive lunches!

Was completely shocked. Walmart in Plymouth, IN had a DPMS AR-15 for sale. Just picked it up. Curious if anyone else has ever seen one at Walmart.

If you were in there buying it around 8 pm or so, I saw you. I stopped at the guns just to take a peek, when I saw the open spot marked "DPMS Sportical, .223/5.56". I thought "Holy crap, an AR!", then I saw the guy at the counter opening the box up for two guys. I also heard his comment "I could build a lot better for cheaper".
