    Full statement from Putin:

We regard the recent unfriendly steps taken by the outgoing US administration as provocative and aimed at further weakening the Russia-US relationship. This runs contrary to the fundamental interests of both the Russian and American people. Considering the global security responsibilities of Russia and the United States, this is also damaging to international relations as a whole.

As it proceeds from international practice, Russia has reasons to respond in kind. Although we have the right to retaliate, we will not resort to irresponsible ‘kitchen’ diplomacy but will plan our further steps to restore Russian-US relations based on the policies of the Trump Administration.

The diplomats who are returning to Russia will spend the New Year’s holidays with their families and friends. We will not create any problems for US diplomats. We will not expel anyone. We will not prevent their families and children from using their traditional leisure sites during the New Year’s holidays. Moreover, I invite all children of US diplomats accredited in Russia to the New Year and Christmas children’s parties in the Kremlin.

It is regrettable that the Obama Administration is ending its term in this manner. Nevertheless, I offer my New Year greetings to President Obama and his family.
My season’s greetings also to President-elect Donald Trump and the American people.

I wish all of you happiness and prosperity.

Huh? It would be easier to tap dance on the sun than to put a case together for treason, at least according to the way Treason is defined in the Constitution.

We are trying to get the word "treason" to be like the words "racist", "homophobe" and "misogynist".....Just accuse people of it over every little action or belief and in a couple of years it will mean nothing...

A little trick I learned from the Fascists Alt Left...:)

Was there a mic drop at the end of that statement?

I'm not a huge fan of Putin, but that response comes across as measured, reasonable, and statesman-like

Many, Rush Limbaugh for one, are predicting that Obama's plans to continue to reside in Washington, D.C. after President elect Trump is inaugurated is based on an intent by Obama to take every opportunity to criticize Trump's actions rather than for the purpose of allowing his youngest child to finish high school. I think this is a plausible theory. Obama has continually demonstrated his narcissistic personality traits that drive his need to show the public, media, and political opponents that he is the smartest guy in the room. Further, he seems determined to attempt to make us all acknowledge that he knows far better what we all need more than we know ourselves.

Valerie Jarrett, Obama's handpicked advisor who was raised overseas in Iran by Muslim parents until the age of five and thereafter in London, recently was quoted as saying "I think Barack knew that he had God given talents that were extraordinary. He knows exactly how smart he is . . . ." Further Jarret said "He is so smart that he's been bored to death most of his life."

Obama surrounds himself with people like Jarrett that continually stoke his fragile ego. With funding from George Soros' multi-layered liberal world view agencies contributing hundreds of millions of dollars to prop up Obama, it's no wonder he's been able to suppress legitimate inquiries about the details of his college activities and records for decades.

Time will tell if predictions of Obama's vitriol will play out over the next months/years. I'm betting Rush Limbaugh is correct.

I don't think one of the disciples of the Alinsky paradigm (the other one being HRC) can do much more damage than he already has prior to the last 60 days but he sure as hell can try.

Obama has succeeded in part with the Alinsky paradigm for change as America is now deeply divided educationally, financially, morally, politically, racially, and socially.

Obama pushed the Affordable Care Act — Obamacare — through a Democratic Senate and House of Representatives with not one Republican vote.
As 2017 arrives, Obamacare is in the throes of self-immolation.

Obama has muddled the Mideast with military and political fiascos in Afghanistan, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Libya, and Syria. The "red line in the sand" Obama ultimatum to Bashar al-Assad and the Syrian regime proved to be a mere vacuous statement part of Obama’s lead from behind foreign affairs strategy.

Then there is the Iran "billion dollar give away" as it is known throughout the political world. Not the art of a deal.
Obama added more confusion with his immigration executive orders aggravating an already chaotic immigration program.

Obama caused damage to agricultural, small businesses, mining, and forestry venues with his detrimental Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rules and regulations.
The onerous Obama EPA rules and regulations squash coal miners, farmers, and small businesses of America

    ...and the list goes on.

Alinsky disciple Hillary Clinton would've been more of the same. America needed a Trump type intervention.

I despise the traitor but I don't think him staying in DC is malicious. I believe he announced that before Trump was elected.
From all accounts he actualy is a caring father. I hope so. Because he was a ****ty president.
Do I think he will stick his nose where it doesn't belong? Yes
do I think trump will smack his pee pee in private? Yes

So how common is it for a POTUS to set up camp in D.C. to defend their legacy after their tenure is over?

I still think oblama has his sights set on the U.N.

He needs to be appointed to UN sec general and then President Trump needs to shut them down.

not sure it's happened in modern history.

He won't have anything left to defend after trumps first week lol

heh, so true. When you do everything by executive order, it can be reversed by executive order.

But it's not like he can't get a video link to CNN from Hawaii, he's staying in DC to collect $$$$$$

Not sure about ancient history, but I've not heard of it.
Most Presidents realize how hard the job was, and realize it would be harder to do with the previous guy pointing over their shoulder.
So, they pass that on and stay out of the new guy's way.
This guy probably never heard of helping anyone that wasn't helping him.

And if Trump leaves, and does it to the next President, I'm sure Hollywood will scream bloody murder.

To expand, VP Cheney commented on torturing/not torturing prisoners.

other than that, I can't remember.
