It can trigger local alarms, so can be used standalone. It can also be monitored very inexpensively .. around $15/month as I recall. Uses cell phone...

      I'm with her. The guy was being aggressive and was armed and was approaching her. He reportedly had an attitude. She showed her weapon and told him to back off. He didn't. She was afraid and took care of herself. She shouldn't have left, however.
