Ranger Supply in FW has a 300 Blackout upper in stock and it talks to me. I want it so bad but am afraid of getting stuck w it and ammo prices and availability not improving.

Good excuse to get into reloading. 223 brass and 308 bullets are pretty easy to find. With lee making dies its pretty cheap too.

We have a SAS 7.62 Stainless Steel suppressor sitting at Corey's, don't have in hand yet.

Greyhound, I'm sure the BlackoutGodfather will be here shortly, but he says cheap ammo from Remington is ready (or almost ready) and they will be advertising the round soon, as well.

As for the handguards, I bought them locally, and really had no idea they're the latest fad on aRfKom.

OK so let me get this straight, all I have to do to shoot .300 blackout is get a barrel. And I can use standard AR mags... And the rounds are 5.56 brass and 7.62 x 51 bullets?

Hmmmm 30 cal performance with AR components, I've got a lower sitting in the garage...

Basically, yes and the mags will hold the full capacity as if it were 5.56

Tempting... especially if used silenced but I already have a 458 SOCOM and a silenced subsonic 600 gr SOCOM is more like throwing a car at your target than a brick.

Ok so heres the deal after I get my Noveske sbr back I want to switch out the upper for the Vltor MUR upper. So that will leave me with a unused noveke upper, you all go out and get these ammo prices down on 300blk ammo and ill build that upper in to one.

but in all seriousness, when I decide to jump into the world of suppressors I will NOT be getting one for 5.56.
    This thing is just ridiculous.

Tell ya what, Evan, when you get your .300BLK upper, I'll get mine. :D

That sounds like a good deal. Kind of a "if you jump first I'll jump too". :D

If basic target ammo became available commercially in the $.30-.40 range I would feel better about it. Maybe even the $.50-60 range . . . .

You'll likely never see subsonic ammo at those price points, but the forthcoming 125gr Remington UMC FMJ should fall into the latter category. If/when an overseas manufacturer picks up the caliber, it's ON then!
