FOr someone who doesn't care, you sure seem to make sure you read and respond to my posts.

actually, I thought it was you stalking me. I've had you on ignore for months, but I thought I'd give you another chance. Probably not wise.

I think Judge Napolitano has got it right here and I agree with him about why the supporters showed up and that it was to confront the heavy hand of the feds. Doesn't matter what Bundy's litigious matters were. They showed up because they are fed up.

Napolitano characterized the resistance shown by Bundy supporters as a clear example of how Americans feel, “enough is enough with the federal government, we’re drawing a line in the sand right here – and it drew people from all around the country who basically said ‘quit your heavy handed theft of property and act like you’re a normal litigant and not God almighty’.

He is absolutely right. Frankly, I don't really care if Bundy is right or wrong, our government has no right to handle the situation as they did.

Exactly. It's a good read about Napolitano's take on the situation that took place and the Judge makes some good points.

It is similar how gun rights supporters reacted to some of the stupid being presented last year. I do not think that the administration thought there would be any resistance, given how the election turned out. What the administration is discovering is that the people have more backbone than does the political class.

Use of anti-terrorism laws on ranchers burning off brush? This takes 'dumber than owl sh*t' to a new low.

Agreed. I do think they were in the wrong for burning land that wasn't theirs. I think a fine and loss of land lease would have been more appropriate. It wasn't an act of terrorism.

I acually laughed out loud when I read the bit about hoping Obama would give them clemency.

I can't even go that far. Burning crap vegetation has been an accepted agricultural process for a very long time. I have plenty of experience with it myself. This is like terrorism charges for washing the tractor.

As for it not being theirs, it was land they leased, and therefore maintained, which is exactly what they were doing. It sounds to me like some jackass wanted to run them up, and found a way to do it that most outsiders wouldn't understand.
