Lots of evidence of abuse by the BLM.From the over 300 no stopping signs in a area around 500 square miles under penalty of arrest, free speech zone,to the 200+ agents, the motion sensors, sniper, and armored vehicles.Today the BLM is planning on using a private road to access cattle they can not reach otherwise.Around 60 people are blocking that road at the moment,as they have no warrant and no right to use it.As far as video this was taken as dump trucks full of dead cattle where being removed with a backhoe. The guy tazered 3 times is the son.In the end the officers pulled out and arrested no one.It is ugly, and I think the BLM and federal government have over stepped their constitutional grounds. The govenor of Nevada"
“No cow justifies the atmosphere of intimidation which currently exists nor the limitation of constitutional rights that are sacred to all Nevadans,” Sandoval said in a Tuesday statement. “The BLM needs to reconsider its approach to this matter and act accordingly.”
He took particular issue with the government’s decision to establish a specific area in which residents could protest.
“Most disturbing to me is the BLM’s establishment of a ‘First Amendment Area’ that tramples upon Nevadans’ fundamental rights under the U.S. Constitution,” he said in the statement."

So who actually owns the land in question?

The state of Nevada, but this is a quote from the daughter.
[h=4]My great grandpa bought the rights to the Bunkerville allotment back in 1887 around there. Then he sold them to my grandpa who then turned them over to my dad in 1972.[/h]

Saw this quote earlier, found it interesting. " I’ll tell you this. If these cattle, BLM called them trespass cattle. If these cattle, were people and they were here illegally, the Department of Justice would be running guns to them and the Department of Homeland Security would be driving by with free government phones and EBT cards".

It all about the money. This is public land. And the government wants citizens off of it... I don't buy into the tortise BS. Wandering cattle do not warrant 200 armed men, snipers and attack dogs.

Nevada sheriffs should escort the federal agents off the land then, assuming Nevada doesn't have a problem with rancher grazing his cattle on the land.

Please tell me where the federal government gets the authority to own, maintain on behalf of states or counties, or otherwise control land beyond forts, arsenals, dockyards, and other needful buildings. I cannot fathom how owning or otherwise controlling areas bigger than some states would fall within those parameters. I also fail to see how .gov control of land I understand to belong to the county and/or state could fall within the authority granted the government under the Constitution. I also believe that the federal intimidation committee should be reassigned to picking up the trash the illegals who are being allowed to run unchecked are dumping into the desert. At least that would be useful.

I really like him. His quotes ring true to me. He is the last rancher standing in the region. We should all be supporting him out of the mere principle that Washington DC should not be micromanaging Nevada's land.

The jackbooted federal thugs are doing the only thing they know how: extorting, pillaging, and oppressing all in their path. They can't even stand when they aren't in complete control of a barren wasteland.

“Years ago, I used to have 52 neighboring ranchers,” he said. “I’m the last man standing. How come? Because BLM regulated these people off the land and out of business.”

“Who is the trespasser on this land? Is the United States trespassing on Clark County, Nevada, land? Or is it Cliven Bundy who is trespassing on Clark County, Nevada, land? Who’s the trespasser?”

“It’s a freedom issue. It’s not about cows. It’s a state rights issue. I really hope that we can learn and defend our liberties here and keep on fighting until the end,” he said. “I don’t when the end is going to be, but I believe that America is the greatest land in the world and it needs to be protected.”

Its not that hard to figure out who the bad guys are: One side is talking about the constitution and preserving heritage and freedom, the other side is setting up The "Free Speech Zones" and stealing cows.

Even more than seeing private citizens stand up, I'd love to see Nevada stick it to the Feds. Unfortunately, if they did so I imagine certain they might not qualify for certain funds and programs if they did so...and cutting off the money pipe is a really rough pill for any politician to swallow.

If my dog poops on my land for 20 years AFTER the government decided dog poop was illegal, the hell yes im going to tell them to come with all the guns you can come with.
BLM better recognize that this could be the errant cigarette thrown out the door to ignite a forrest fire given the current frustration and mistrust of the federal government.
For those of you who have posted IN FAVOR of what the feds have done, shame on you. Every single last one of you loyalists.

Abso-freaking-lutely!!! It seems some here have stepped up in support of this relentless, uncontrollable, federal government trying to destroy a man's lively hood. I'll admit, when I first heard he hasn't been paying the permit fees (or whatever) to use this land my first reaction was against Bundy. However, after hearing from the family and other stories around the interwebz, it seems pretty damn cut and dry that this is yet again another story of government out of control...just out to hurt the little guy to prove their point...that no one can stand up to any fed agency ever, and if you try you will be squashed.

Assuming the Bundy's story is true (and I'm certainly more apt to believe them at this point) Where are some of your guys' loyalties? With freedom? or government abuse?

The federal response seems very much overkill, yes. Should have just thrown him in jail like any other trespasser. I am not sure what it is that warrants this massive response.
You mean like we do with the millions of illegal aliens we lock up? Oh wait, we DON'T do that!
The problem I have, is the number of agents and the amount of force used against a few hundred cows and ONE rancher, while we allow MILLIONS of illegals to walk across our borders and have free access to ALL of our benefits and privileges!
Why is the government allowed to lock up, haul off, and/or kill livestock allegedly illegally on public land, but not the illegal humans doing the same?

This is actually an easy one for them.Nevada just reclaims the land.90%....NINETY PERCENT of Nevada is "federal land".On that land are gas leases, mining operations, and yes cattle grazing.Reclaim the land and the revenue it generates.Billions in royalties that currently go to the federal government.Nevada is the leading producer of Gold,Silver,Mercury, and third in the USA for copper production. It has existing gas and oil production.IF they reclaim their states sovereignty over their own land they could afford to lose some federal funds for sure..

In that case, hopefully the Nevada politicians can see the long-term gain and use this as leverage.

Maybe he's the last man standing because his business model is flawed? Grazing cattle, in a desert, on land you do not own, doesn't sound like a recipe for success to me.:dunno:

We can argue about who owns the land. The bottom line is Mr. Bundy doesn't. The state of Nevada is my best guess as to who owns it and they have ceded their rights to it to the Feds.

Yes, free speech zones, commandeering private roads for Federal use, beating and tasing protesters are all heinous violations of their rights. Mr. Bundy brought this sh!tstorm down when he decided that he had a right to use property that does not belong to him and then threatened war with those who would stop him.

I agree with Mr. Bundy and many here that this should not be a federal .gov issue. I also think the 16th Amendment as interpreted to call wages "income" is wrong, I believe that rules on automatic weapons, suppressors, and SBRs are bullsh!t. But I pay my taxes just the same. I wait 9 months and pay for the stamp before obtaining a SBR. Guess that makes me a "sheeple" or something.:dunno:
