Not a movie, but Tour of Duty hasn't been mentioned yet and was a decent TV series about the Vietnam War.
Zulu- Definitely worth a watch if you haven't seen it
Gettysburg- based on the book Killer Angels and probably one of the better Civil War movies
Gods and Generals- based on the book of the same name
    Glory
    The Blue and Gray
    300
    U-571
    Where Eagles Dare

    Lots of good suggestions here.

I said Band of Brothers was accurate. It is, but not as much as Generation Kill. It is told from the point of view of a journalist embedded with a Marine recon element during the push to Baghdad. It captures a lot of the BS, like MOPP gear, NVG's, Sergeant Major, badge hunting officers and so on. It isn't romantic at all. They reference GEN Mattis a lot.

    The movie SUCKED.
The book on the other hand was awesome.

The movie had lot of inaccuracies, and seemed to focus on Nicholas Cage instead of the Windtalker.

Well that being said iguess ill have to read the book. Not much of a reader. I tend to fall sleep. Maybe they have it on cd. Where you can just follow or listen to someone saying the story

Saving Private Ryan might be my favorite, I like a lot of them which look at war from a different angle. Recently saw the Imitation Game, very interesting the way warfare is changing that something like a computer can be as powerful as any traditional weapon system.

Another interesting one I just watched, though it's older, was 'Conspiracy'. - A dramatic recreation of the Wannsee Conference where the Nazi Final Solution phase of the Holocaust was devised.

If you were closer I'd loan you the book.
It was good enough to be in the Navaho museum.

    Sands of Iwo Jima.

    Flags of Our Fathers.

    Letters From Iwo Jima

The last two were directed by Clint Eastwood, and tell the same battle from both sides perspectives.

Thats some funny stuff. I feel like I know the guys in that series. The characters were portrayed very well.

OP, there isn't any action in it, but Taking Chance is an awesome movie. Getting chills just thinking about it.

    Taking Chance was great.
Anyone in NWI wants to borrow it, let me know.

I actually enjoyed Fury. One of Brad Pitts better war movies...granted not a classic but it is not a total waste of 2 hours.

    Fury was good.

I always enjoyed The Bedford Incident, thought Act might mention it, Actually

    I thought about it.
