Yep, like GPIA said, it depends on the mishap. A unpresidential tweet, say like attacking the looks of someone's wife maybe the loss of a point. Registry of American Muslims loss of like 25.

I hope he changes his tweeting style now that he's the POTUS.

He sworn to protect the constitution, I think that registry will cost him 100 points right away.

The first string of tweets from the account (guaranteed it wasn't him) were pretty normal. Time will tell, but I don't think he's going to have the time to tweet personally any more.

+1 for the initial post-inaug tweets.

    Trump Approval Rating: 51.

If Obama had time to play golf he will have plenty of time to tweet. :):
Well he will probably spend it playing golf as well.

I watched the media on a couple channels after his speech and they were already giving Trump a -100%. So seems fair for common folks to start him at 100%. If we could get rid of main stream media it would be a big plus…fair and balance they are not. Trump came out swinging and the media hacks that do nothing for America showed they will not change.

I was watching NBC and while they did have some positive comments, you could kinda tell they were choking to get them out.

    Kut is right.

    Start at 100.

Question. Can he do any better than that? I mean, what's the rationale of assuming he's perfect, and then downgrading him from perfection? Perfect compared to what? It seems more valuable to me to assume a neutral starting point where one can have room for surpassing what one might have thought was even possible.

For example, do it like rep except no upper/lower limits. He starts at zero. Neither good nor bad. He does something good, give him from 1 to 10 points, depending on the magnitude of good. He does bad, do the same except subtract. At the end of four years, if he's in negative territory, well, that's bad. If he's in positive territory, that's good.

So I guess I'll play along, but I'm starting at zero.

Trump gets +1 for giving a speech that wasn't socialist.

You know what's kinda funny about that, right? In parts, it was socialist - in the classic sense. Elevating struggling families, overthrowing the ruling class, etc.

Of course, it is difficult sometimes to draw a distinction between socialist and populist propaganda.

So it's now President Donald J. Trump. He gets a clean slate. He starts out with a 100% approval rating from me. However, as his presidency continues, I will rate his actions. It may go down, it may go up (if less than 100), but I will explain why he loses or gains points. I figure this is the best way to do this rather than post numerous individual threads about his presidency. Good natured debate is welcome, bad natured debate is not, and if pervasive without moderator intervention, I'll simply go back to my original plan and post a bunch of "Trump" threads.

    Other member's ratings are welcome.

    Anyways.

    Trump Approval Rating: 100
kut I'm proud of you for this my fellow American. This is what I asked you for the other day. No one could ask any more of you than this. I truly wish I could shake your hand after this thread Kut.

Bane speech out of Batman. "give it back to the people".

Well, the internet is abuzz about it anyway. I mean, do you really think he intentionally grabbed that line from Bane? It's just twitter noise.

But even so, I'll take that over what we had or what we would have had.

Personaly I rate the speech as a 9 out of 10 to my standards but I give the President a 10 for writing it himself. Obama never wrote his own material nor did Bush or many others. I used to work with a Reagan Speach writer and learned a lot.
i wish the President would have better defined a couple of the bridges that will bring people together, but he knows what he means so that's ok for me. I LOVED the fact that he spanked the establishment of BOTH parties! I truly was inspired by his speech because I believe it and I know he believes every word. I hope we become the shiny city on the hill once again.
Also proud to have worked for the new Vice President all be it when he was a congressman. I'm proud of him. I have lots of pictures and good memories.
