I bought a spam can. For future purchases is it better to buy the loose stuff since it's a little cheaper?

Hxp is non corrosive.
I'm trying to think.. it was the early '50's I believe, when the U.S. stuff stopped being corrosive.

Your are correct....I had one crate of AYR marked 51' thats corrosive, all others are non corrosive from 52' an 53'.

If you got en blocs in your spam can, keep them an use them on the loose rounds.....I think loose rounds can be different lots am years so accuracy might vary, but the HXP isn't really known for its consistant accuracy anyway.

Congrats she looks good!! And any ammo from the CMP should be bought up and fed to M1 right away!

sounds like a nice rifle.

I would suggest you replace the op rod spring. Orion 7 makes good replacement springs.

I'll keep that in mind. I've been being extra nice to the wife. I got 700 rds between the M1, mosin, & k98 to use.

Depends on when it was made. I don't think it's corrosive but don't quote me on that!!

With these older rifles and surplus ammo, it is best just to play it safe and clean her like you would assuming all ammo is corrosive.

No....always wanted one of those Navy Bolfers though....seen a 20mm receiver at a gun shop once yrs. ago...so guess there out there.

Don't believe CMP sells any corrosive ammo, most are from the 60's an up.
