    Just because it's smaller than you and looks cute and cuddly doesn't mean it can't tear you to shreds.

    Humans are at a severe disadvantage when fighting just about anything in water; I don't know anything they could've done better, other than maybe be more aware of there situation and get the heck away before an otter gets close.

    The dang things cleaned my neighbors pond out. I've seen them several times in my creek. Time to take action.
    Do we have otters here or just muscrats?

    Dang things absolutely trash the banks of ponds.

    I don't think there are any as far south as Indy (yet). I remember when they were re-introducing them up near Delphi back in the early 80's.

    There are otters in Vermillion County, saw six of them about a year ago in the Vermillion River near Cayuga. Jim.
