Sir:I read it still not sure what his point was? Perhaps that a lot of people will go out and get something just because they think it will be prohibited?
My point is, in keeping with the op’s original question. That in America it seems that when the govt. puts excessive restrictions on a law abiding population that said population in turn finds a work around. And in these instances those work arounds are counter productive to the original (intention) restriction.
In the case of outlawing zip guns, to my thinking anyway. It would have been better to police and punish the criminals better, rather than take the easy way out and ban zippers. This created the work around that led to better tools for the criminal, which led to another easy (lazy) fix. Which led to escalating better tools. Now here we are today worrying that every time we go to a school, a store, a church, a restaurant, we have to fear we will have to defend ourselves and or our families or even joe public from some nut bag with an efficient weapon.
So “what’s it like when there’s a weapons ban”?
