I spent today shooting ONLY the P226 to get used to it. 350 rounds or so I think, I lost count.

I think the feeling issue for me is the TacOps grips and the extended SCT magazines. It just feels like there's a lot of weight hanging down under my hand and the grip is a bit fat. I'm going to put the standard grips back on and run the 12 round magazine and see how it feels.

At 7yds my best clean run was 3.04. I shot a 3.04 again immediately after but got 1b. At 12y my best clean run was 3.32.

I need to work on grip strength. I need to grip the double stack harder than the single stack to keep it as tight. Hold it right, and it'll do its part, though.

Those look my P226 9mm targets at 10yds but I'm also slow firing:) I've yet to run my P226 40 through it's paces yet, but I'm sure it will perform the same way. I would definitely suggest putting on regular grips and also picking up some 13rd MecGars for it.:yesway:

I've got the original grips so it's just putting them on.

Still haven't warmed up to the P226 that much. I shoot it ok. It just feels weird. I haven't decided if I'm going to put a little money into it trying new grips or sell it and just stick with the P229.

I've had a couple 226s and seem to love them but don't keep them. I'd love to try a 229. My buddy has a 227 sas and it's the best thing since sliced bread.

The 229 seems really well balanced. It's a great size for carry and for use. It was designed as a .40 as well, as opposed to a modified 9mm. The perceived recoil is a bit less, although the timer says that's in my head.

If I keep it I'm swapping out the grips and reducing the trigger weight a bit.

I have 2 P226s, the Mk 25 and then an older German model. I think they both shoot great. I wouldn't want to carry one all day long though.

I think it'd be nicer in 9mm, as that's what it was designed for originally.
My 226s are both 9. My 229 is .40/.357 (have both barrels). Then I have the .45s in 220 and 227.
I want to find a good used P228, but they are hard to find at a decent price now.
