Can't put my finger on it, but for some reason I'm just not feeling the skeletonized grip.

:+1: I'm not a big fan of it or the paracord. I've seen some skeletonized rifles that looked cool and even then they still didn't feel like they were "for me."

I do however like the kns pins kit, the ambi safety (I like 90 though). I like Aero Precision stuff most of the time, and the rail and fillers look pretty nice!

Can I ask why its referred to as "porn star"? Just curious! Yea I think everyone has their own look, thats what makes guns fun!

It's the way the rail runs all the way to the end of the barrel, and then I am assuming that is a suppressor that is inside the rail, in other words it looks like a penis.

That would be the one thing I would change on the rifle.

I'm also interested in the "evil" black rifle...maybe if I can sell one of my kidney soon, I can buy all the parts I need and we can have an INGO ar15 build party...

I'll be having my own build party in my garage in about a week when my parts come in. New lower build with a CMC trigger for the DD upper, and a new barrel and rail install for the DMR with the Geissele sd-e. Can't wait :ingo:

I just might have to impose and invite myself!

What's this adam arms gas tube retrofit the dude in the video babbling on about, never needing to clean your ar15 again?

Just a bit of hyperbole. Piston guns run cleaner than impingement guns because the gasses stay at the end of the operating rod. You have to clean them still and they're heavier. They also take a different carrier.

I personally use Brownell's. If they don't have what I want I'll try PSA, Primary Arms, and a few others. Red Barn Armory has a pretty nice Build-Your-Own LPK when it's in stock. My upper was sent straight to my door from BCM.

What would be some good brand uppers/lowers to get? What would be some brand uppers/lowers to stay away from?

I've got tools that INGO members are welcome to borrow. Lots of other members are very helpful and will let you borrow things as well. Just return tools in the state in which you receive them.

Primary Arms, Westernsport, DOAarms, SWFA, Bravocompanyusa, Midway, Brownells, Redbarnarmory, DSGarms, etc... Lots of great vendors out there. These are the ones I'm using most recently.

As far as uppers, Westernsport has been running some awesome deals on DD uppers if that's in your budget. Very nice uppers.

where are you guys doing your shopping for parts?

Keeping in mind that I know less than nothing re: build vs buy I just got flyer in the mail from Cabela's that advertised a S&W AR for $589.99 plus tax, of course.

Can an you build one for less than $600 ?

Yes. It all depends on how expensive the parts are that you use.

But that is a nice price on those S&W's. If you build for that price, it'll probably be of similar quality, maybe a bit better, but not by much.

If I'm a first time shopper at Brownell's or some other bender and want to purchase a lower, what kind of added delay would there be to get my background check on a lower?

Yep. You order the lower and tell them which LGS you want it sent to. You go to the LGS and pay your transfer fee after filling out a 4473 and being called in to NICS. You walk out the door.

I thought when you buy a gun online they just ship it straight to your house......
