I have never used one as a weapon, but I have some medium sized sledge hammers. I do not mean to boast, but I am soo good at breaking things with hammers.

I took fencing in college and really liked the saber. I have been looking at "Patton Sabers" (model 1913 Calvalry Saber). Anyone know where I can get a "fighting" version of this saber?

My non-firearm shtf weapon would be my jeep. Or maybe one of my .22s. Some people don't seem to consider those firearms anyways.

You might try putting an edge on a "presentation" cavalry saber. I'm pretty sure Army Cavalry units have kept the market for such alive. Alternatively, you might look up various custom sword-makers.

Yeah, I been looking on the interwebz, but I just can't find one as downright dangerous-looking as the one Lex posted. Sigh. Guess I'll keep on looking. . .

Not necessarily so dangerous, but you'd be amazed the diversion they can create when tossed about hither thither and yon...especially if flying from the blade of a heavy edged weapon...so I've been told.

I have a ASP, pepper spray and a ESEE 4. I've actually used the ASP several times (while working security) when a non lethal solution was required. Got to be darn careful, they can very quickly become a lethal solution.
