I have heard Brad Stevens speak.....he will not be going to IU anytime soon...Why do you think people will want to get rid of Crean....The guy can recruit and gets the fans involved...as long he he keeps quality bench coaches to help with game management, they will be fine- Hondo

I did lot's of reserch on this topic several years ago anf ended up choosing a Ruger M77 in 300 Win Mag....one of the best rifle decisons I made....it will match the requirements you outlined to a T:rockwoot: -

.270 Win Vs. .308 for plinking?
Both of these calibers will fill the needs you set out...the .308 wins because ammo is cheaper by far...more options too...and I too prefer the short action compared to the long action .270 as well.:twocents: -
