      I have 10-8 Performance flat triggers on all three of my 1911 pistols. Once I tried a flat trigger, I absolutely fell in love with the way it feel. However, like most things, I can't tell you that the flat trigger is "better" it's just better for me. Here's a picture of one of my pistols:

      This is not meant as smart aleck comment but, is this WalMart dye to which you refer labeld "leather dye?" I'd be willing to bet that a product that is intended for use on leather would be labled as such. Anything not labled as leather dye probably will not work.

      1000 yard optics- choices?

      I faced this choice about a month ago and end up purchasing a Nightforce NXS 5.5-22 X 50. So far I've had it out to 650 yards on my Remmy 700 in .308. It is exceptionally clear, and has tons of adjustment. I am looking forward to moving out over the remaining 350 yards.

      Remington 1911 R1 and AR24 Armalite

      The Remington has a Series 80-style firing pin block safety. Springfield's products do not have an fps. For many people this difference is not important but I will not purchase 1911 pistols with firing pin safties.
