Jedi,
Colleen and I will be available to help. I can supply my S&W 15-22 rifle (scoped) and my Ruger 10-22 Tactical (scoped). Also, count me in for 500 .22lr.
Ive got the Timney in mine. Much better now. Still, not as good as the triggers that came in my Larue rifles, but a lot better than stock. You guys are more than welcome to try it out.
I never implied that union workers were bullet proof. A collective bargaining agreement works for both sides. But, it does protect wages (and other things) for the term of the agreement.
As for your specific shop, I wouldn't have the slightest clue, not knowing any of the details.
That may be true for you, right now. But the fact is, in a non union job, it can also be taken away just as fast. And, there wouldn't be anything you could do about it. It's the life of an "at will" employee.
Whoa! I think the young sadclown would be well served by taking some time and research the history of labor unions from the beginning. Surely, he isn't advocating for us to go back to the "good ole days"? :dunno:
Starting a job with minimum skills and learning as you go is called an apprenticeship. Nothing new here. At least in a union setting, covered by a collective bargaining agreement.
I can't respond to whether or not the offer to the USW is fair or not, without seeing the entire offer. I'm sure it has to be more than just monetary.
If you don't mind me asking, what trade do you work in?
