You know, those words might come back to haunt you. ;)

Maybe not. The only factual argument a person can make about motivations involves their own, should they care to reveal them (and don't lie about them or shade them for virtue signaling ...... Nooooooo. That way lies madness):)

Since we can never know Trump's motivations unless he tells us, and some making this argument are adamant that we shouldn't believe what he tells us, the argument has no factual underpinnings

Remember when so many people said trump is just a liberal? He's no different than hilary? He's so awful....all from libertarians and many so called conservatives? He's done a lot of conservative moves already, and leading the path to not funding abortions, restricting our enemies from coming here, etc. The only people in his way are the republican establishment right now. Now more than ever we need to be pushing the republicans to cave like the did for obama. They should just roll over and give in. But watch, they'll put up more of a fight than they did against obama. The swamp was drained by the voters, democrats at lowest levels nationwide than almost ever, now trump needs to drain the republicans who are actually liberals.

no, the dems are still plenty in his way. Senate rules say you need at least one committee member from the minority party present to hold a meeting. So the dems are boycotting the nomination meetings

    3) At least we know you wouldn't be politically fascist. But you'll have to keep me around to make sure you don't go economically fascist

Take a deep breath and look at the title of this subforum. General POLITICAL Discussion.

When they add a General Economic Discussion, you and your 3 econo-centric friends can be boring and wrong in there. :D

Well, that's not entirely true. Economics can't be wrong. It is actual science, not that voodoo you political types call science. It is amoral. But you're right about boring.

You're just jealous because we do the voodoo that we do so well. :D

And, at the risk of raising the white flag on this particular subargument, Marx was an economist. And he's been more right than wrong in his predictions. Engels was the great marketer of his ideas to political types.

Is political science substantively different than marketing, other than being tailored to a particular product?

    Why yes. :)

Marketing is purely prospective - what can you do for me NOW. Or tomorrow.

PoliSci incorporates history. That's what it shares with Econ. And modern PoliSci/Econ leverage statistics better than ever with the help of PC cycles. When it comes to Big Data, its a whole new world.

Yes, but that's really just long-term market data, and a really big market. Or a really small one if you're getting into the parliamentary side. At the end you're just using it to get somebody to spend their support on the idea you're selling.

So, an 23 year old Radical Muslim ISIS supporter from Turkey or Saudi Arabia, trained in Turkey or with the Iranian Republican Guard is free to waltz right in here (actually not do to Obama's restructuring of the Visa and Passport vetting system) but a 23 year old Muslim from Syria seeking asylum because he is gay is returned to his country where he faces the death penalty if caught. Might as well name that planes the MS St. Louis.
You are conflating the actions of the nation with the actions of individual citizens. If I recall correctly we have had citizens from the US, UK, Germany, and even Scandanavian countries leave to join ISIS yet these countries are not under a 90 day hold as the countries themselves are not a risk to our national security. These individuals would still be prohibited from entering the country if intelligence of their sympathies is available, and this would be the case regardless of their country of origin.

Alternative Fact, you can say you're Christian and be looked at differently.
Christians are a minority religion in those countries affected by the EO. So are Jews Mandaeans, Yarsan, Zoroastrians, Hindus, and even Sunni or Sh'ite Muslims may be in the minority depending on the country

So it is not just limited to Christians.

Lets add Oklahoma City then, that will cut into it, but since the body count isn't the same we should be okay with it. Arguments like this are f'ing stupid. Well they haven't killed that many people so why should it be an issue...that argument then applies to refugees. As a whole they have done anything bad in the grand scheme. So what a Syrian raped and killed a German woman. Doesn't they are all bad cause like they have 7,600 rapes a year so only 7,599 to go til it should matter...

Cool. So show me the ban on Muslims in the order.
    I think I found it;
PROTECTING THE NATION FROM FOREIGN TERRORIST ENTRY INTO THE UNITED STATES
By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and laws of the United States of America, including the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA), 8 U.S.C. 1101 et seq., and section 301 of title 3, United States Code, and to protect the American people from terrorist attacks by foreign nationals admitted to the United States, it is hereby ordered as follows:
Section 1. Purpose. The visa-issuance process plays a crucial role in detecting individuals with terrorist ties and stopping them from entering the United States. Perhaps in no instance was that more apparent than the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, when State Department policy prevented consular officers from properly scrutinizing the visa applications of several of the 19 foreign nationals who went on to murder nearly 3,000 Americans. And while the visa-issuance process was reviewed and amended after the September 11 attacks to better detect would-be terrorists from receiving visas, these measures did not stop attacks by foreign nationals who were admitted to the United States.

What is the wording of the EO? It states that those that are not the predominate religion of the country i.e. Muslim are allowed expedited and less scrutiny than those that are of that religion. It's legaleese for saying Muslims cant and others can. And dismissing his verbal account of the EO vs the actual is EO is plain stupid. If I say my intent is to scam you on a sale, but I word the sale in a way that makes it legal do you just accept it?
Please explain how members of the religious majority in a country may be religiously discriminated against by said country

Keynes was an economist. He's been more wrong than right in his predictions, but governments market his failed ideas with force.
