Here I was looking forward to stopping by this week. Guess I'll check somewhere else to shoot over the winter. If a gun store doesn't know the law surrounding the very highly regulated products they sell, I'll pass. It'd be like purchasing medicine from a pharmacist unsure what is what schedule medicine and asks for my license to buy aspirin.

...I'm planning a trip to Vandalia Gun Range & Armory, an easy 45 minute drive from home. I'll have an AAR for those who live near Indiana's east coast.

I've been there. It's okay, but they have the cheapest, flimsiest plastic range benches I've ever seen. They are tiny, and wobble when you put your stuff on them. Also, there is absolutely no meaningful physical protection from what's going on on the other side of that flimsy barrier. They could do better than that; every single other range I've been to is much better and provides at least some degree of solid barrier between you and the next lane.

They told me they're planning to build a second location in New Castle, IN.

yes there was the traditional release of indemnity/hold harmless/I promise to follow the rules paperwork.
Written contracts normally do not allow any verbal alterations, even before they are signed/agreed to, unless explicitly provided for in the contract. I would have told them I expected my money back since they breached the terms of our agreement.

Not meaning to do a thread jack, but has anyone experienced anything like this at Parabellum? Thinking about getting family membership, and I don't want to waste the money if they're jackasses too.

Well at least y'all have other options to choose from down that way. I wish we had enough choices up in the N/W corner of the state to be able to pick and choose which ranges to patronize or not. Slim pick'ns up this way.

That being said I would've been ticked off too in that situation and made the choice to take my future business elsewhere.

Their house, their rules. You don't like the rules? Then don't go to the house. No butthurt, no big deal, pretty simple.

Sounds like the manager advised you of the policy during your conversation after shooting. You didn't like it. So now you won't go back.

    Problem solved.

dang, dude......you gonna be pop'lar as me in here.....

Your "kik'r" really probably only applies before the contact is entered. Even if it did made the contract voidable, there is a consequence to voiding a contract (you have to give back the money).

Parabellum has no such policy Jake and concerning another point, to my knowledge Point Blank isn't set up to sell class 3 items, not that that make any difference in the conversation. No lawyer here either (like TriggerTime) but I would think it could become a liability for them if an NFA item were to be stolen and somehow traced back to the form being produced at the range. Never know who is looking at it or over your shoulder when you have it out.
