      Question on storing gasoline - is it worth it?

      Ditto on HarvestLand ethanol free gasoline. I fill a tank with summer gas to use in all my equipment until fall. In the fall I empty it into the truck & fill with winter gas to use in the generator & winter equipment. In the spring it is run through the truck & refill the tank with summer...

      I was worried about the size when you said the bore was closer to 2 3/8" after honing. McMaster has 2 1/2 & 2 3/4" brushes in the same series. Still SS bristle & 1/4 NPT thread. Can't wait until it is done!

      So cool! Looking forward to the day you shoot it. You'll be glad you were "helped" with the project when he grows up; in fact, you will be surprised how much you were helped when somebody else is telling the story. Great project made better with the family involved.

      Try McMaster Carr, p/n 7230T18. 2 1/4" SS bristle tube brush.

      Appleseed field trip

      I think the field trip is a great idea. I cannot say enough good things about attending an Appleseed! I took one last year, learned a lot, had a great time & plan on another one this year. It would be a great family weekend. In fact two of the groups at the Appleseed I attended were family...

      Check the feedback ratings. As others have said, some have good communication skills. Most sellers accurately represent what they are selling. Be aware of what market value is as well as what you are willing to bid. Don't forget shipping & transfer fees.

      2014 Legislative session

      I have written so many letters to so many important people the last couple of years that I'm sure that I am on the Christmas card list...or maybe the other list. We all need to continue writing, even if we don't talk about it on line. More e-mails sent again.

      What about a pair of cases for the axle on each side of the carriage? Maybe saddle around the axle that will lift off the when you get the cannon to the shooting site? Kind of like the concept on this Gatling gun: http://www.rockislandauction.com/_uploads/ria/images/55-56-6.jpg

      I think the round pins on the end of the flat steel looks better than the straight cut straps. The blended cap-squares look pretty good too. Its good to see you getting so close. Keep it up!

      Been following since the first post. Very cool project. I recently saw a cannon competition on a show featuring the North/South Skirmish Association. Some of those cannons were pretty accurate. I'd like to see your cannon fire. Any test fire dates yet?
