Asking $125 or possible trade for ESEE Junglas or Becker BK9. I'm open to taking or putting a little $$ depending on condition of knife traded.
I'm on the north side/Hamilton County area. I'm not opposed to driving a little and would rather meet ftf...
Check out Hill People Gear. I've had the snubby about a year now. It's awesome. Just enough room for pistol, spare mag, phone or camera and a compass. There are other bigger models. I like that I can drop my pack for breaks and stuff and still have the essentials on me.
Man I get excited just reading the OP. My wife and I went down there twice last year. The second time was in the fall with my 10yr daughter. We are not in great shape but did most of the trails you mentioned just fine. On the second trip my wife was 5 months pregnant too! What I like to do is...
I've thrown my PF9 in my shorts pocket many times if it's just a leisure ride like around a campgroung with my family. If it's a more serious mountain bike ride I've put the same pistol in my camelbak. It wouldn't be fast to get to but it's better than nothing.
I started running recently with my...
Wanted to give my thoughts on this bag in case anybody is interested. I've had it several months now and mostly used it on day hikes. It was also used on a backpacking trip in Maine last summer. I finally tried it out on a 2 mile jog/run a few days ago.
I mostly carry a G26 or Kel Tec PF9...
Cool. I have the UL2. Love the tent but I do have to be careful with the doors on the floor. Mine has stayed very waterproof so far. I've been getting in to the hammock thing lately so not using the tent as much.
That's an awesome area (for Indiana). My daughter's first backpacking trip was Sycamore loop. The first night by the lake past the cemetery and the second night at a neat site right by the creek. She still talks about that trip.
Is that a Big Agnes tent? Which model and how do you like it?
What I love almost better than sleeping in hammocks is having somewhere comfortable to sit while eating and relaxing. It beats some damp bug infested log any day.
I used my Warbonnet Blackbird recently in temps between 20-25f. I was paranoid so I used my therm-a-rest xtherm in the sleeve (Blackbird is double later model) and a 40 degree Enlightened Equipment quilt as an underquilt. I covered up with a 20 degree Jacks R Better quilt. I was as warm as can...
You're stating the obvious. I don't careif its a cop or the guy taking my order at Burger King, if I'm a jerk to them they'll probably treat me different. What's the big surprise here. I would absolutely say somebody being a jerk or not could be a factor in getting a ticket or a warning. And if...
It seems you're missing the point that the citation is not for the person's attitude. It's for the traffic violation that they committed. In theory if the officer didn't like your shirt that could be a determining factor in you getting a ticket or warning. But that has nothing to do with the...
You have a perfect situation here to write a letter or better yet set up a meeting with the Chief or another high brass member of the department. Instead of whining about the whole ordeal you can actually say that the officer was kind and polite. You can even compliment him on that. I think that...
I think the term active shooter fits perfect. There are either shots happening in which case the first few police on scene will go in and go straight to the shots or there are not shots being fired in which case it will be treated like a hostage situation with swat etc etc.
I go back and forth. It seems like the grass is always greener.... I'll carry my Spyderco Military for a while. Then switch to my Delica 4 with full flat grind. Man that thing can slice.
Hamilton Co resident also here. My job has me driving around the county a lot and I see them all the time in the evening/night. Fishers, Carmel, Noblesville, Westfield, you name it. They are all over whether you see them or not. Not that big of a deal really. Like mentioned above, they would...
This seems to come up on forums from time to time. Keep in mind though that killing and stopping are two different things. Some people use this argument and say a person should carry .22 for SD. Yes many people may die from .22's 2 or 3 days later in a hospital bed but I don't think it's very...
